I was super excited to shoot with these girls again! They were one of the first girls I shot with when I started my freelance career in London almost 2 years ago. Sara, Zsannett and Annabel are three beautiful European models and they also run a blog together called The 4 of Us where they feature a guest writer each month.

I wanted to shoot something a little different with these girls so organised two locations, both of which were restaurants in London. The first location was By Chloe in Covent Garden – a vegan-friendly restaurant with amazing interior including swinging chairs.

The light in By Chloe is perfect for shooting – big windows all the way down the side of the restaurant make for a beautiful light-filled location! The food is lovely – we opted for the oat-based smoothie bowl and a juice.

I really wanted to test shooting through windows of cafes and restaurants – I love the effect it creates! The light was so perfect and as long as you don’t get too much reflection from objects and people on the street, it often gives a really beautiful faded soft light to the image.

The girls went for pastel, floaty summer dresses which worked perfectly within By Chloe – most of the decor inside is pastel colours and really lovely tones.

When walking to the next location we stopped and took a few images on the streets as the light was perfect! I wanted some photographs of all three girls walking towards me. I have recently bought a new lens – the Canon 24-70mm 2.8. This shoot was actually my first time using it and I absolutely LOVE it – the different angles you are able to create with this lens is amazing and it was just the right lens I was looking for! Super happy.

Five Guys was our next location – an American fast food restaurant with a 60s Diner interior. We shot downstairs as it was completely empty and had more space to shoot from different angles. I asked the girls to wear denim as I really wanted to keep the 60s feel to the imagery. They all chose the perfect outfits which co-ordinated with each other!

We moved around and shot both on the chairs and sofas and (weirdly enough) on the sacks of potatoes they have around the restaurant. I thought the light may be tricky in here but the red actually works really well and although when you are inside it doesn’t seem as if the artificial light will work – you don’t actually have to forfeit the camera settings too much.

I shot with the girls individually and as a group – the group shots were super fun to create as I’m very use to working just one-on-one with someone so it was a really lovely change and it was nice to have a bit of a challenge in terms of composition and model direction. Really looking forward to shooting with these lovely ladies again soon!
